So what is the home hub?
Home hub is a small device that connects to your home Wifi network. It is what controls the blinds in your home via the remote control signals they need to receive to operate.
A free app is available for your smartphone (you need an Android or iOS device) that enables you to control your blinds anywhere in the world or setup schedules so the blinds move by themselves at set times of the day.
You can install the app on as many devices as you like.
How much is the hub?
The hub is £150 including VAT.
Who sets up the hub?
You do. The hub comes with full instructions and just like you buy any electrical equipment nowadays, the setup is your responsibility. The app requires access to your Wifi network and so passwords are required. For this reason, we will not get involved with this process. However, the instructions are incredibly simple and there are huge numbers of online videos that walk you through the process.
Can I put the hub anywhere in my home?
Yes and no. The hub must be in Wifi reach of your home router. Houses vary in size and layout. The hub is responsible for sending the radio signal to each blind. It is essentially one gigantic remote control. Walls and other things in a home can cause strange things to happen to those radio signals. Sometimes it may be necessary to position the hub in a location where all blinds can be operated without interference.
Sometimes this needs a little trial and error. We have only come across a handful of customers who have needed to place their hub in a more central location to reach all of their blinds without interference.
