There are a number of important steps to check. We will say at this point, over 98% of people who experience problems with a non-operating blind have simply failed to keep the blind properly charged or are experiencing another basic problem i.e. the motor is not faulty.

There are a number of important steps to follow. FOLLOW THESE CAREFULLY AND METHODICALLY.

  1. Test the remote control - if you have more than one blind on the remote control you are using, you must prove the battery in the remote is in a sufficient state of charge by checking it can send a signal to another blind. If you do not have another blind to test, then ensure you check the following. On the 5 channel remote without an LCD display, you should see one of the buttons 1 to 5 illuminate in blue; on the 6 channel and 14 channel remotes, they have LCD displays and you should ensure the display is working. On a remote control that does not have an LCD display, if the channel number does not illuminate OR it is constantly flashing, then the remote control is faulty or broken. If you have attempted to program the remote control and have pushed the CONFIRM or LIMIT (C or L) buttons on the rear too far in and broken them, you will need a new remote control.
PLEASE NOTE: A weak battery in the remote can give you a false impression it is working when in fact, it does not have sufficient power to send the necessary radio signal to operate the blind.

  2. Ensure you have set your remote control to operate the correct channel number i.e. blind. Amazingly, we have had numerous customers who have contacted us with problems and they simply had the wrong channel number selected.

  3. Plug in your charger to the blind that is not working. There should be a red illuminated light on the charger. If you have fully charged the blind recently it may go green immediately. If you have not charged your blind recently and the charger light goes green immediately, it is likely the motor is faulty.

  4. With the blind plugged in, try to operate the blind with the remote control. It is entirely safe to operate the blind with it plugged in.

  5. If the blind fails to respond, leave the charger plugged in for at least 2 hours. If the charger turns green before the 2 hours is up, disconnect and try again.

  6. Once the blind has been plugged in for 2 hours, try to operate the blind. Ordinarily, as soon as you plug in the blind, it should begin to work. However, batteries that have reached a very low state of charge, may require at least 2 hours of charge before the motor can begin to work.

  7. Directly beneath the charge port on the blind is a red button. Press the red button in with a small device like a pen lid. Hold the button in for around 3 seconds. DO NOT PRESS THIS BUTTON IN FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS. After 2 to 3 seconds the blind should “move” i.e. it will jog. If this happens, the motor is working fine and it is likely the remote control needs paining with the blind. Your blind my or may not have lost its limit settings.
